Our Story
Founded in 1997 in a home garage in Lebanon, NJ, Highlander Equipment began with Bill Martin’s vision to provide better, more honest service in the forklift industry. Starting as a forklift mechanic before transitioning into sales, Bill quickly recognized the growing need for improved service and the potential benefits of Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) technology in warehouse operations. His belief in maximizing space savings led Highlander Equipment to represent the Bendi line of VNA forklifts.
In 2003, Landoll Corporation acquired Drexel Industries, and Highlander Equipment soon added the Drexel line to its portfolio. Around this time, Bill met Martin McVicar, founder of CombiLift, which manufactures 4-way directional forklifts for long-load material handling. This partnership has allowed Highlander to collaborate closely with both manufacturers, even contributing to product development.
Today, Highlander Equipment has grown from a small operation to a master distributor, supporting clients across multiple states. We remain committed to helping our customers expand and optimize their operations. From our family to yours, we look forward to helping you achieve your growth goals.
